Totara, a true black proven breeder, is our senior herdsire. Born in July of 2002, he was personally selected by Eric Hoffman of Bonny Doon Alpacas to perpetuate his own line of true black huacayas. After using this exceptionl young male for our spring 2006 breedings, we persuaded Eric to let us purchase this outstanding herdsire to assist us in establishing our own line of true blacks. Totara’s parents are Chilean imports. His mother is a true black and his father is a medium silver grey. This top of the line sire is compact and structurally sound in all areas of confirmation and does not fade when exposed to the sun. His first year of breeding was in 2005.
